Description

A follow-up to the NLT 2022 session on Disasters, this session will include new reports on best practices for government financial leaders before, during and after an extreme emergency.

Key Take-aways

Key Takeaways:
• We are experiencing disasters on a much larger scale than ever before; and such events are likely to continue because of changes in weather, situations and circumstances.
• AGA’s Intergovernmental Partnership compiled examples from government financial leaders who have already lived through extreme challenges, along with guidance and best practices to help assess risk, react in the moment, and prepare for the future.

Learning Objectives

Ever found yourself in a bigger disaster than you could ever imagine and folks are asking about resources, requirements, and how to get more money? Learn how to deal with disasters, from the moment you take the financial leadership job to the review of your risk plans to the day you are deep in a challenge. The goal of this effort is to gather a collection of best practices from those who have lived through disasters. At this PDT session the Partnership will outline the information collected to date and invite the participants to participate in the data collection efforts towards the issuance of a final report consisting of best practices for those both assessing their risk levels and/or finding themselves in an unforeseen situation. Come to this session to hear ideas you may not have thought of or to provide your own insight into those surprising things that you wish someone had told you about before you found yourself in a disaster. This is an interactive session! Come to participate and contribute.
